Bích Ngọc Cao serves as COO for Define American, a nonprofit media and culture organization that uses the power of story to transcend politics and shift the conversation about immigrants, identity, and citizenship in a changing America.
She previously led special projects at the Los Angeles Times, where she proudly integrated Jonathan Gold’s 101 Best Restaurants list into the LA Times mobile app.
Bích Ngọc has served in digital marketing roles at Capitol Music Group’s Harvest Records and Warner Bros. Records, where she created campaigns for artists such as TV On The Radio, Morrissey, Banks, The New Basement Tapes featuring Elvis Costello and Marcus Mumford, The Veronicas, and more.
She began her career at MySpace, launching the original MySpace Music and helping to build a fledgling social network into a global entertainment destination.
After MySpace, Bích Ngọc joined Bobby Shriver and Bono to co-found and launch (RED), a unique product partnership amongst global brands such as Apple, Gap, Converse and American Express, to raise $100 million for AIDS programs in Africa within the first year. As of December 2017, (RED) has generated half a billion dollars to prevent and treat HIV/AIDS.
A lifelong Angeleno and USC alumna, Bích Ngọc is committed to public service and serves as president of the Board of Library Commissioners for the city of Los Angeles.
She wrote an essay about online organizing in the New York Times bestselling book “MoveOn’s 50 Ways to Love Your Country.”
